CLWB TWMPATH BANGOR CEILIDH CLUB

Clwb Twmpath Bangor Ceilidh Club is now entering its sixth year. The idea came to us after a particularly successful and well attended charity ceilidh held in the old Railway Club in upper Bangor. We started holding monthly dances in term time, which were from the first well attended by students. Some years later, the Railway Club was going to be demolished, (thankfully it has had a stay of hand and is still standing), but while this sword of Damocles was hanging over the club we accepted an offer to move to Academi, which is much more central and convenient for all, although we miss the Formica, glitter curtain and authentic seventies ambiance of the Railway Club.

And although there is usually a good attendance of students, we get a regular attendance of older devotees now, some even as old as us!

We’ve retained the original successful formula from the Railway Club Days – the emphasis on dancing, with only a very short break for a raffle prior to the last hour. The raffle usually supports a good cause, anything from local homeless related work to small scale African charities have been supported in the past. There is a bar, and there are delicious cakes on sale, usually homemade, and because of all the dancing done during the evening they are miraculously non-fattening.

The next Ceilidh will be on the 10TH MARCH at our CTBCC venue, ACADEMI, which is on Deiniol Road next to the Pontio site, sticky cakes hopefully in attendance, Caller the much loved Martin Hallet

DO KEEP AN EYE ON THIS PAGE FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS, OR THE CLWB TWMPATH BANGOR CEILIDH CLUB FACEBOOK PAGE HERE, AND THERE IS AN EMAIL LIST THROUGH WHICH YOU CAN BE KEPT INFORMED OF UPCOMING EVENTS - WHY NOT EMAIL THE BAND AND ASK TO BE ADDED?

What's a Ceilidh Club event like? Well, there is a bar, and a stall selling mouth watering home made cakes to keep up energy levels during the evening, convivial company, keen dancers and an experienced caller. Aderyn Prin  provide all the music you need to make you light on your feet, so all you have to do is get those dancing shoes out, dust off the glad rags and come along and join in for a fun evening of organised mayhem!
