Monday Musings

Well! We have had a fantastically busy couple of months. Loads of gigs – most of which
were absolutely amazing – we have met so many lovely people. We play the Tango at
most of the gigs we do and often get some really memorable performances – so much so
that the idea has been mooted of giving prizes for the best rendition. So get practising!

particularly wanted to see Belshazzar’s Feast and I wasn’t disappointed. I have known
Paul Hutchinson for many years now and his sense of humour and virtuosity on the
accordion are always a delight. He and Paul Sartin feed off each other and provide
great entertainment. J was also in his element over the weekend as he was able to make
the acquaintance of both a nyckelharpa and a hurdy-gurdy. Guess what he wants for
Christmas now! We also took the opportunity to be on the other side for once and do
some ceilidh dancing – learnt some great new dances and heard some great ceiliodh

I am off to Ynys Môn in two weeks for the Big Experiment weekend – a weekend of
workshops, sessions, concerts etc organised by Trac. Karen Tweed is coming over to
do some of the accordion classes, but there are a host of excellent tutors lined up for
a variety of instruments, song and dancing, and a chance to have a go on a different
instrument as well. Look it up on the web and come and join in – it will be great. But
more about that later.
